President's Message
Welcome!
To some of you it's welcome back. To others it's simply welcome. Whether you have been part of the family for a while or have just joined us, you're about to experience one of the most unique and exciting performances anywhere.
How many times have we heard one of our guest artists say, "You don't know how rare this is."
Well, it's true. For almost 35 years, the Jazz Arts Group has been performing and sharing jazz in Central Ohio and touching all our lives. But it's so easy to take this for granted and think that this kind of organization is common across the country. That's not the case. We're all very fortunate to have a national treasure right here for all to enjoy - the Jazz Arts Group and its flagship, the Columbus Jazz Orchestra.
It takes a lot to create this kind of excitement year in and year out. Specifically, it takes:
- World-class local artists who love what they do and have a passion for all forms of jazz.
- Access to some of the best musicians, vocalists and composers on the planet.
- A strong staff who make each performance or educational experience look easy, but who spend countless hours planning and preparing.
- A dedicated board who set the vision, share their wisdom and help to support this great organization through philanthropy.
But mostly it takes you. The audience. Listener. Foot-tapper. Enthusiast. Raving fan. You are our family and we'll never forget that. So sit back, enjoy and welcome home.
